Animations in my marriage cd …

my marriage photo

my marriage photo

My wife’s brother Andrew and his friends .. contributed their wonderful ideas of rotating my photo and my wife’s photo more than 1000 times in the marriage cd …  My photo might have traveled all over the world starting from India (Taj Mahar, Agra), France, Sri lanka, Australia …. Photos will come from objects like Television, Camera, Mobile Phone, Printer, Computer, Mountain, River, Sea ….. After seven years of marriage life … now as a family we sit together and watch this marriage cds on my Anniversary or once in a while. I and my son call this cd as “Joke CD”.  The video coverage studio was in Madurai.

All the animations done in that cd was a amazing thing for all of our family members. The only thing I was not able to forget was … my brother in law included some latest Tamil movie songs in the marriage cd … he got scoldings from the elderly persons from our family … and they blamed him that he spoiled the christian marriage process …. Then again he went to the video studio to remove the movie songs and then he  placed christian songs. We could hear the same set of songs in most of our marriage videos.

In those days our marriage function, reception in Madurai and the reception in Ramanthapuram … took 4 complete cds to record.  Nowadays its pretty simple that all the three function could have been be stored in a single dvd.

School kids zone Lesson 1 – How to draw a flower?

I am teaching my son Alan who is studing in St. Britto’s Academy Vellachery, Chennai (A Matriculation School) the drawing lessons. I learned the drawing from my father Mr. D. Samuel M.A., M.Ed. (who was a Social Science teacher and an Artist in Schwartz Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram). I am trying to teach all the basics of drawing through my blog, so that this talent will be forwarded to the next generation.

Finally Its Raining In Chennai

Finally God had mercy on Chennai and it rained for the past few days. Night time was pleasant to sleep. A surprise visitor Mr Dragonfly (king dragonfly – ராஜா தட்டான்) came to our house.

king dragonfly - ராஜா தட்டான்

king dragonfly - ராஜா தட்டான்

In my school days we used to catch these dragonfly in the rainy season. Its  was  every difficult to catch a king dragonfly (ராஜா தட்டான்). The other tough guy was Red dragonfly ( மிளகாய் தட்டான்). We called this as “Milagaai Thattan” because of its red color. If we wish to show our catching skill one has to catch a king dragonfly or red dragon fly. If any one of these  bite you means the pain will remain at least for one hour. All the other dragonfly varieties  are easy to catch.

When I joined in Ramanathapuram St. Andrews Elementary School, I noticed some of my friends  catch the dragonfly, and remove its end portion of the tail, then insert a piece of grass. After that they will throw that dragon fly in the air. Poor dragonfly will struggle to fly. All were happy to watch its struggle. But now if you think of that I (you)  feel very bad.

Innovation Happens Everywhere In India – Madurai Trip

Hand Pump – அடிகுழாய்

————————————————————————————-
This is our Madurai – அட இது நம்ப மதுரை
————————————————————————————-

This particular water pump attracted me when I was shopping for fruits with my wife Jebakani in Simmakkal, Madurai. She usually buys fruits from Simmakkal area because this area is famous for wholesale (The selling of goods to merchants; usually in large quantities for resale to consumers) fruit selling shops (சிம்மக்கல் பழ மண்டிகள்).

Most of the small scale business people buy these fresh fruits and sell them in different parts of Madurai. They are spotted often in front of schools. They not only sell fruits, but also some sweets which cost very less (What ever is affordable to school kids).

Hand Pump evolved from straight handle (1), the side wise handle (2) and finally handle and the out put pipe on the same side(3).

I got this pic in Simakkal, Maduai.

  1. 180 degree hand pumps
Handle and the out put pipe exactly facing opposite sides. This particular hand pump  I personally came across in my fifth standard. We lived near the bus stand (Ramanathapuram), in a small rented house.  Every morning or evening we had to pump lots of water to cook, wash, bath  and etc,. … At a time, I used to carry three pots of water on my bicycle.
  2. 90 degree hand pumps
When I was pursuing my 8th std in Schwartz Higher Secondary School, we had fun in pumping water from one of my school teachers’ house (Mr. Pandiya Rajan who lived with us in Singarathopu, Ramanathapuram). In those days, a pot of drinking water cost 10 paise .
  3. 0 degree hand pumps
I saw these modern day pumps at Simmakkal, Madurai.
